LG V50 ThinQ 5G Phone Announced with Snapdragon 855 SoC & Five Cameras

Apart from launching its LG8 ThinQ and G8s ThinQ smartphones, LG has announced another flagship device called the LG V50 ThinQ as its first 5G smartphone. The smartphone comes with the same 6.4-inch notched OLED display as we have seen on the LG V40 ThinQ. The device comes with military grade MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

The handset is powered with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and comes with onboard storage of 128GB which could be extended further via microSD card. LG has included the X50 LTE modem on this smartphone which brings support for LG V50 ThinQ and there is also a Vapor Chamber inside the device for keeping the device cool by dissipating the heat.

On the front, we can see a notch where an 8MP primary selfie camera is placed along with a 5 MP wide-angle lens. On the rear, there is a triple camera setup which includes a 12MP primary camera with f/1.5 aperture, a 12 MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 16MP Ultra wide-angle lens. Out of the box, this handset will be coming with the latest Android 9.0 Pie OS and will be getting further updates when available.

The LG V50 is equipped with 32-bit Hi-Fi Qual DAC, Google Lens, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and few other connectivity options along with many handsfree gestures to operate the device. There is a 4000mAh battery on the smartphone to power it which also supports fast charging and wireless charging. The company has also included a Dual Screen accessory designed for the phone.

This accessory comes with 6.2-inch OLED display and supports HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution. The smartphone has pogo pins on the rear side for attaching the accessory and the secondary screen can support landscape and portrait modes too.
