Samsung Galaxy A20e & the Galaxy A40 with New Infinity Displays Go Official
Yesterday, Samsung had unveiled its latest Galaxy A series of smartphones, which are supposed to be premium high-end smartphones in the current Galaxy A lineup. The company had unveiled the new Galaxy A70 and the Galaxy A80 smartphones at the ‘A Galaxy Event’ held in Bangkok yesterday.
It appears the Korean tech giant isn’t done yet; the company had launched two new Galaxy A devices tailored to the European region. Responding to the needs of European customers, Samsung has launched its new Galaxy A20e and the Galaxy A40 smartphones to the European markets. Both the devices are meant to sharing the identical specifications of the current Galaxy A devices but in a much smaller form factor.
The new Galaxy A20e is supposedly a trimmed down version of the earlier released Galaxy A20 smartphone. The A20e features a 5.8-inch HD+ Infinity V display that is housed in a one-piece plastic design-build. The device is powered by the same octa-core Exynos 7884 processor that also powers the Galaxy A20 — followed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage as well.
As for the cameras, the Galaxy A20e features dual rear cameras comprising of a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the A20e hosts an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The Galaxy A20e is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery that supports Samsung’s 15W fast charge technology as well. As for authentication, the Galaxy A20e comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The other Galaxy device that had been launched by Samsung in the Europen region is the Galaxy A40 smartphone. Earlier reports suggested the certification of the Galaxy A40 smartphone and the same device finally goes official. Unlike the A20e, the Galaxy A40 features a 5.9-inch Full HD+ Infinity U Super AMOLED display. SImilar to the Galaxy A70 and A50 models, the Galaxy A40 also features in 3D glass build design.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A40 is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 processor, followed by 4/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It also supports microSD expansion of up to 512GB. As for the cameras, the Galaxy A40 also features dual rear cameras comprising of a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for wide-angle shots. The front of the device features a 25MP selfie camera as well.
The Galaxy A40 runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based OneUI out-of-the-box. And, the device is kept alive by a 3100mAh battery, which supports 15W fast charging via USB Type-C port. The pricing of the Galaxy A40 is also yet to be known.
And, lastly these two Galaxy A devices add to the current Galaxy A series line-up, which currently has five Galaxy A phones. At the ‘A Galaxy Event’ Samsung had also announced its Galaxy J phones getting replaced by with these Galaxy A phones as well.
