Google is seemingly making it easier to find and download Android OS updates

While a few specific Android device vendors have earned great praise of late for their Pie update tempo and the stability of the new software running on new and old phones, the so-called OS fragmentation issue doesn't seem to be getting any better on the whole.

Even though Google has stopped refreshing its official Android distribution stats with no warning or explanation last fall, it's pretty obvious ambitious initiatives like Project Treble haven't made a major difference in the overall speed of OS promotion rollouts. But perhaps a smaller change could soon help ...
