Apple Music Now Costs Just Rs 99 Per Month in India

Earlier this week, JioSaavn and Gaana have offered a whopping 70% discount on their yearly subscription plans. Both the services are now available for just Rs 299 per year, down from Rs 999 per year. Today, Apple also revised the pricing of the Apple Music service in India. The price cut is applicable for all the subscription tiers. The popular monthly plan which used to cost Rs 120 per month is down to Rs 99 per month.

On the other hand, the student and family plan are now costing just Rs 49 and Rs 149 per month respectively. With this price cut, the newly launched Spotify is certainly looking premium. Unlike Apple, Spotify offers a free version with certain limitations. However, Apple is offering a 3-month free trial for new signups. The Spotify Premium monthly and yearly plans cost Rs 129 and Rs 1,189 respectively.

Also, Apple Music’s family subscription plan can be shared between six users. Unlike the Indian music streaming apps, the international players are still playing catch up game when coming to the local content. Apart from Hindi, the companies are yet to source the huge catalogs of music from other Indian languages. While the newly announced Apple services are limited for Apple users, Apple Music comes with cross-platform support.

Yesterday, Apple also announced a huge price cut on the iPhone XR model in India. The base variant which was launched at Rs 76,900 is now available for just Rs 53,900. It offers top-notch performance with the Apple A12 Bionic chipset and comes bright color options. Stay tuned for PhonRadar more details!
