Huawei Once Again Caught Using Stock Images as Camera Samples

Till today, we have seen several smartphone brands using stock images or photos taken with DSLR as the camera samples in the advertisements. Huawei is getting ready to unveil the all-new Huawei P30 and P30 smartphones on March 26th in Paris. The company is already teasing the camera capabilities of the devices through its social media handles. It is said to offer lossless superzoom and hardware-based night mode. However, the images in the teasers are actually not shot using the Huawei P30 smartphones.

The company is using the stock images as the camera samples in the teaser posts on the internet. This is third time Huawei getting caught using other images as camera samples. In 2016, the company for the first time used the photos shot on a Canon camera as Huawei P9 camera samples. Later in 2018, they used the DSLR images as camera samples for the mid-range Huawei Nova 3 smartphone.

Even after getting caught twice, the company is repeating the same tactics again for its upcoming flagship smartphones. The Huawei P30 Pro will be coming with quad camera setup on the rear and should be good enough to capture images that can be used for advertisements. It even comes with a periscope style telephoto camera for offering up to 10x optical zoom (unconfirmed). But the company still chose to use the stock images as cameras samples for these camera-centric smartphones.

In this era, simple reverse image research can give the original source of photos. However, the company now replaced them with the images with a disclaimer mentioned. We will be knowing the true camera capabilities of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones only after getting out hands on them. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
