How to Get Google Night Sight Mode on Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus & Galaxy S10e

Last year, Google introduced the Night Sight mode with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. Though both these devices come with a single 12.2MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the Night Sight uses Google’s AI to capture sharp and clear photos in low light conditions. Though the other companies playing catch-up in the photography segment, Google is leading the way with its single camera sensor.

On the hand, the newly launched Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus smartphones come with triple cameras on the rear. Unlike the Google Pixel 3, the Galaxy S10 devices can capture 123-degree wide-angle photos and can zoom in up to 2x without any loss in quality. However, the Bright Night mode on the Galaxy S10 falls flat in front of Google’s Night Sight mode.

Thanks to the ported Google Camera app from XDA Developers, the Night Sight mode can be used on the Snapdragon 855-powered Galaxy S10, S10 Plus & S10e devices. Along with the Night Sight, the ported app also brings the HDR+ and Portrait modes. Interestingly, the app also supports Galaxy S10’s wide-angle lens.

Steps to Install GCam App on Galaxy S10 devices:

  1. Click here to download the Google Camera APK (file size – 120.1MB)
  2. Install the APK file on Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S10 or Galaxy S10 Plus or Galaxy S10e.
  3. Now, download the config files for the recommended settings.
  4. Extract the downloaded config files and place them in the folder with the file path /Internal Storage/GCam/Configs/
  5. Open the Google Camera App from the app drawer.
  6. Once opened, double tap on the black space next to the shutter button.
  7. Select the option s10csMar2.xml from the pop-up.
  8. Now tap on the restore button.
  9. Restart the Google Camera app to take advantage of the enhanced capabilities of the cameras on the Galaxy S10 devices.

The stock camera app on the Galaxy S10 can be good in some aspects, but the GCam beats it in the low light mode. If you just installed the GCam on your Galaxy S10 device, share your experience in the comments section below. As of now, there is nothing we can do for the Exynos-powered Galaxy S10 devices. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for further updates about the Google Camera app.
