Xiaomi Redmi Go (Android Go) Smartphone Officially Announced in Europe for EUR 80

Redmi has announced its first Android Go smartphone in Europe for €80 and it will go for sale starting from February. The device will be coming in Black and Blue color options and nothing much is known about the global announcement as of now but is expected to be done soon. It will also be available in Philipines from February but the pricing of the same has not been revealed yet.

The device will be coming with a small 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixels display with 16:9 aspect ratio and under the hood, it will be powered with a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 1.4GHz clocking speeds. There is a moderate looking 1GB of RAM along with either 8GB of storage or 16GB which could be extended via microSD card slot that is provided either to use a secondary SIM card or insert a memory card.

Furthermore, the Android Go device will be coming out of the box with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system (Go Edition) and might get further updates but nothing is officially confirmed about it as of now. There is an 8MP single main camera on the rear with an LED flash, ditching the trending dual camera setup and it will be accompanied with a 5MP camera on the front without a LED flash.

The handset does not feature a notch display or infinity display like we see on the latest handsets since it is a budget-friendly device targetted towards first time Android users, we do not see many of the new features on it. To power the handset, there is a 3000mAh battery on the back without any fast charging support. Well, it will be interesting to see how many would prefer to buy this entry-level smartphone, as it lacks many of the features in the modern era.
