Huawei Watch GT Smartwatch will run Custom Software on an efficient Cortex-M4 CPU

Not long ago, we have seen a leaked render of Huawei’s upcoming new Smartwatch dubbed as Watch GT, which couldn’t reveal much because of the low resolution. Now a sharper image of the same has popped up and it is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 event. Well, the watch comes with a Black ceramic and stainless steel case along with two plungers and dive watch style bezel. This watch lets you swap 22mm watchbands for changing the look and makes sure you are not bored with the same look.

It expected that Huawei will be offering the watch in Classic, Fashion as well as in Sports versions. Moreover, this watch also looks thin, unlike the bigger ones which we will get to know on the 16th of October. The smartwatch will be running on a custom OS on top of Cortex-M4 based chipset. There is a 420 mAh battery which should be offering a greater battery life because of the low power processor used. The Huawei Watch 2 was a Wear OS watch and this new offering from Huawei is something different.

According to the leaks, it will come with Up to 7 days of Always On Display active and up to 20 hours with GPS turned on. The watch will also come with a heart rate monitor along with a motion sensor to keep a track on physical activities along with an IR blaster which is a rare feature to find on a smartwatch. There is 4GB of onboard storage bit nothing is mentioned about NFC till now. The 1.39” OLED display comes with 454 x 454 pixels resolution (326 PPI) which is slightly bigger than the Watch 2 Pro.

The Huawei Watch GT will cost €200 in Europe and is expected to be launch in a few weeks. We need to wait a few more days until we hear something officially from Huawei. Are you planning to get this watch? What new can we expect from the new custom OS? Comment in the section below and stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more news and updates.
