Apple takes its online store down to prepare for Friday's iPhone and Apple Watch pre-orders
Just as it did before the "Gather round" event started Wednesday morning, Apple has taken down its online store tonight. This allows the company to prepare for what would appear to be a busy day for the site on Friday when pre-orders for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 begin. Pre-orders for the iPhone XR (with a 6.1-inch LCD panel) will not take place until October 19th.
Apple traditionally has closed its online store prior to making new product introductions, and just before it starts accepting pre-orders. The site should be reopened before 12:01am ...
