2018 LCD iPhone may not use Apple A12 chip after all; older processor likely

During the week starting September 10, Apple is expected to unveil its new fall hardware lineup that could consist of a new Apple Watch, new iPad Pro models, and three new iPhones. Powering the latter devices was presumed to be the company’s new A12 chip that is currently being manufactured. However, thanks to newly-uncovered code, it appears this may not be entirely the case.

While the premium 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus are still expected to ship with the brand-new A12 processor, the cheaper LCD model may not follow suit. ...
